A dog’s brain is fully matured when 20 weeks old. Up until that time puppies have brains like sponges, and the more you exercise the brain, literally the larger it becomes. This enables them to take on new information faster and with ease later in life. At 16 weeks old, the window of learning starts to narrow. I can offer help with the following:-

Bosco at 8 weeks old
Training for the New Arrival: (kindergarten school level)
- Crate training
- House training
- Feeding the puppy
- Socialisation
- Coping with fears – dogs, visitors
- House rules – setting boundaries
- Everyday situations
- Vet visits – practise handling and inspection
- Mouthing – soft mouth/bite inhibition
- Play – puppies learn to be confident through play and have fun, very important for connection to you.
Training Basic Behaviours: (Primary school level 8 – 18 weeks old)

- Walk with me – connection walking building up to lead walking (off/on lead)
- Checking in on a walk (off lead)
- Heel/Close (off lead) – until released to go play
- Parking – adult/humans talking

- Drop (object in mouth)

Dealing with following Common Problems:
- Home alone – separation anxiety
- Loose Lead walking – connection walking with your dog.
- Jumping up
- Possession – anti guarding exercises – food bowl, sofa, beds, toys, doorways
- Stealing

- Barking in car or home

- Chewing
- Digging
- Safety with children
- Introducing other pets
